Luhn Validation Test Case
Discover the essential aspects of Luhn validation and test cases for ensuring credit card security.

The Luhn Test Algorithm, also known as the Luhn formula or modulus 10 algorithm, is a simple checksum formula used to validate a variety of identification numbers, such as credit card numbers, IMEI numbers, and many other identification numbers.
The Luhn Test Algorithm operates on the principle of alternating addition and subtraction of digits in a sequence, followed by a final check digit calculation. It is applied to a sequence of digits, and the final result is a single digit that indicates whether the entire sequence is valid or not.
The algorithm works by iterating over the digits of the number, starting from the rightmost digit. For every second digit, you double its value. If the doubled value is greater than 9, you subtract 9 from it. You then sum all the digits together. If the total modulo 10 is 0, the number is considered valid according to the Luhn algorithm.
The Luhn Test Algorithm is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data in various applications, especially in financial transactions. It helps prevent fraudulent activities by detecting accidental errors in identification numbers.
